Yay after about 3 or so weeks I have finally managed to squeeze in enough time to write a blog post. w000t aren’t you all proud of me.

School is finally getting into the swing of things (and I mean really into the swing of things) with a slew of homework and groupword and 2500 word essays due next week alone. Next to that though I am happy to report that I in fact got a good grade on my first written japanese test scoring an A-, a grade which I was very surprised with as I expected a B+.

I am enjoying UWI life alot now, I have kept my promise and stayed away from too many parties and been doing the necessary work. So expect a wicked GPA from Stewy at the end of the semester XD

Off the topic of my school work has anybody realized that the Stingrays have gone mad? Another stingray attack on somebody, what the heck is happening, it seems that Steve’s death was no fluke but in fact just an early warning of more attacks yet to come. My advice to you kind people, stay away from the sea if you see a stingray, these gentle creatures no longer like that stereotype and would instead like to live up to their stinging name.

Man school work is a real bitch, i have too much to do man. I haven’t gotten to do a thing :( . I miss going on Animesynergy.com and discussing the latest anime episodes and the kewlness of anime on a whole.

Gone are my idle days playing Silkroad (one of the coolest mmorpgs… ever). Where i am still stuck on lvl 25 because i cant get to play enough to actually lvl. No more techjamaica.com. *sigh*

The one thing i can be glad about is that when i am finished with all this schoolwork i will be a money making fiend. But for the time being this is too much work :(

I still am really excited about learning japanese, and I must add that i am now able to read and write hiragana and a few katakana. I can read manga now, i just cant translate it, but i can at least write the roomaji. Gimme a few more months and i’ll be a translating fiend!!! i’ll be Animesynergy’s first manga translator :) . Damn i am so happy to be learning japanese it would seem like i am majoring in it, but no i am actually a history major… funny huh… a computing genius doing history to become a lawyer. What a strange world we live in

My first week of UWI is officially over. I must say it was quite the week.

I am yet to take my ID picture so that I can finally get a UWI ID (I promise to do this next week).

I haven’t said it before so I will say it now, I am in the faculty of Humanities majoring in History. I am enjoying my classes so far, they have all been great, now its just the wait until the massive work reaches me and the stress begins :(. Japanese class is especially fun, I am learning to write Hiragana and Katakana and a little Kanji and to speak the language as well. So I am hoping by the time I am finished with UWI I will be able to have a conversation with somebody in Japanese :D

Takahashi Sensei (my Jap teacher) is a really cool teacher, she was born and grew up in Japan and speaks 4 different languages (Japanese, French, Spanish, English) and I must say that she gets the cool teacher of the week award :D

Partied on Thursday night, got frazzled (tipsy) but it was still a great night, lots of girls and rum and the wining and stuff.

But all in all thats my first week of UWI, met new friends, reunited with old ones… now i have to go and study my Hiragana alphabet.

Ok I told myself I wouldnt rant too much, I prefer informative discussions than just quarelling. But right now I am a little ticked off…

About a week ago I met in an accident with a guy. Now this … guy (I am trying to refrain from cursing) through his dumbness and obvious visual impairment has caused me to run into his back, and yes I have eyewitness’ who say that it was obviously his fault, but unfortunately the Jamaican law is on his side (once you run up in somebody’s back you are wrong no questions asked).

So there is a small accident, nothing more than a fender bender. I am already pissed cause he is costing me money which should’ve gone towards more important things. This man keeps bothering me to find him the 19k (amount for body work) and saying I am giving him the runaround even though I gave him an address which he verified and about 3 different contact numbers for me. I must say that if I get another phone call from this guy before the end of today, I will personally go over to his house and tell him words that would make any “badman” flinch.

Where the hell does he expect me to find that kind of money in less than a week, do I look like a relative of Mr. Lee Chin or other rich Jamaicans?

Anyway as I said before I dont want to make my blog be all about rants etc. The final reason why I wanted to make this post is just to say that old people (60+ years old), either need to stay off the damn road or get a lane for themselves. I am tired of these people who are obviously not fit to drive causing problems for the rest of us. For a person to be able to drive safely he must have, Good Sight, Good Reflexes and be Sane. I am sorry to say but when you reach a certain age, those things more than likely decline.

Car accident

Quoting from the dehli traffic police webpage (http://www.delhitrafficpolice.nic.in/old-age-and-driving.htm) “Older drivers are involved in more fatal car crashes per miles driven than any other age group except teenagers. Drivers over the age of 75 years also have more traffic violations and nonfatal collisions than younger drivers. Two of the most common violations, failure to yield the right of way and failure to obey a traffic sign, often lead to accidents at intersections where situations require a quick response, full peripheral vision, and interaction with other drivers.”

Now I am not saying that all 60+ year old people need to be taken off the road, some of you are actually good drivers and still have your body mostly intact. But those of you who dont (and you know yourselves) need to give up your license and get somebody to drive you around, you are not only a danger to yourselves but to others as well.

So people once you start forgetting the reason why you started driving out of the house in the first place, please stop go back into the house (before you get too far) and hang up the car keys and burn your license.

Well, finally after months of trying to convince myself to do this. I have finally started a blog. Yes applaud me good people, i have gotten the resolve to blog. This is just an introductory entry though. I will not get into the ins and outs of my thoughts and my life until the next entry. Just to let you all know (even though it is in the About me section), I am Stewart Panton, 20 year old Taurean, University of the West Indies student. My interests range far and wide but i am most interested in Music, Cars, Computers and Games. I am a very opinionated person and i like a good discussion.

I am from Jamaica and i attended Wolmer’s Boy’s High School, and my life’s dream is to become a Professional Rally Driver, a goal which i will begin to try to gain as soon as i start making money. So thats it. Welcome to my Blog
